Job Description:
Job Description Summary Installation and repair of electrical
systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of
industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code,
manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications,
using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test
equipment. The employee is normally engaged in the wiring and
development of special machines. Essential Functions \n Installs
power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and
equipment, such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers,
following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and
voltage/current testing devices. \n Connects power supply wires to
machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between
machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and
blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment \n Diagnoses
malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and
lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replace damaged or
broken wires and cables, using hand tools. \n Replaces faulty
electrical components of the machine, such as relays, switches, and
motors, and positions sensing devices, using hand tools. \n
Diagnoses and repairs or replace faulty electronic components, such
as printed circuit boards, using electronic test equipment and hand
tools. \n May direct and train individuals from the same and other
classifications. \n Effectively interacts with managers,
supervisors, and hourly team members across all departments. \n
Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally for
equipment or machine installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
development problems. \n Must be willing to participate in
specialized training as assigned by supervisory personnel. \n
Additional duties as needed and assigned. \n \n Requirements
Required: \n Proficiency in shop mathematics including algebraic,
geometric, and trigonometric functions. \n Ability to solve
electrical problems using Ohm's and power laws, and similar
electrical/electronic equations. \n Proficiency in
determining/calculating required wire size and insulation for a
specific application, including all pertinent de-rating criteria.
\n Expertise in the use of normal electrical/electronic testing and
diagnostic equipment, including devices such as digital Volt-Ohm
Meter (VOM), current sensors and probes, and oscilloscope. \n
Competence in the use of hand and power conduit benders and other
tools used for fabricating electrical conduit systems and wireways.
\n Knowledge of basic machine motion components and assembly
techniques. \n Expertise in DC circuits, single and three-phase AC
power, and distribution circuits. \n Proficiency in reading and
interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and wire and wiring
diagrams and specifications. \n Knowledge of National Electrical
Code (NEC) and JIC Electrical Codes as used in the Special Machine
Industry, particularly JIC EMP-1-67 and EGP-1-67. \n Must have a
minimum of four (4) years of experience in industrial wiring and
electrical technician operations or a combination of technical
school training plus experience or ability to demonstrate
equivalent skill and ability. \n Training to include the equivalent
of one (1) semester technical course in PLC operation and
programming or equivalent experience in PLC operations. \n Required
to hold electrician's license or similar certification. \n \n
Preferred: Technical school experience in industrial technology,
electrical technology, electrical circuitry and systems, National
Electrical Code, and industrial controller installation and
