Neuro RN Job Details – Peoria, Illinois - Location: Peoria, IL 61637 (Illinois nursing jobs) - Unit: Neuro Medical Surgical Acute Unit (54 beds) - Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract - Start Date: February 2, 2026 - End Date: May 4, 2026 - Contract Length: 13 weeks - Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00pm – 7:00am), 3 shifts/week - Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week - Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday - Charting System: EPIC EMR Registered Nurse Qualifications - Active Illinois RN license (or proof of application in process) - BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required - Minimum 1 year of recent neuro nursing experience - Level 1 trauma experience required - Prior travel nursing experience (no first-time travelers) - Proficient in heparin titration based on PTT Neuro RN Responsibilities - Provide high-quality patient care to individuals with neurological conditions such as stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, and head injury - Titrate IV drips (including heparin) and monitor patient responses in a clinical setting - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including charge nurses and 24/7 house supervisors - Float within the neuro med-surg unit and to other units as needed, based on competency - Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled - Adhere to hospital dress code (no specific scrub color; tattoos covered; only ear piercings permitted) - Complete a comprehensive orientation (2 days with educator and preceptor) Apply now to join our healthcare team in Peoria, Illinois, and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
