Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/02/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Iowa requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Work in a Med/Surg unit with potential float between local campuses within the same discipline - Care for medical-surgical and oncology patients - Uses Epic EMR system - Night and weekend shifts may be required - May be required to work during winter holidays such as Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving - Provide comprehensive care to Med/Surg and oncology patients - May float to similar units within local hospitals as needed - Document care using Epic EMR system - Required to work at least 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving) - Limited to requesting off only 1 day during the holiday season (11/26/25-11/30/25 or 12/23/25-1/2/26) - First-time travelers will be considered - Candidates who have been employed by the client within the last 12 months may not be eligible /n /n Requirements/n - Active Iowa or Compact RN license required - Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required (NIHSS may be obtained prior to start or during onboarding) - Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg or Oncology experience required - High acuity care experience preferred - Prior travel nursing experience preferred - One supervisory reference from within the past 2 years required /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-668331.
