Ensure product testing, inspection and documentation activities are performed in accordance with internal, customer and regulatory requirements. Leads quality technicians; supports the Quality Manager in maintaining an effective quality system and driving a quality mind set within the operation. Quality System Supports audit readiness activities for internal, customer, certification and regulatory audits; including preparation of records, coordination of site activities, and follow-up of assigned corrective actions. Supports the Quality Manager in the collection, verification and timely submission of monthly quality and food safety data in accordance with corporate regional and corporate requirements Ensures accurate execution and maintenance of site-level quality records; assists in the implementation and sustainment of quality system procedures within daily operations Serves as deputy to the Quality Manager; capable of independently completing critical audit support activities and required quality system reporting during the Quality Manager’s absence. Quality Control Leads execution of production quality control activities to ensure compliance with regulatory, internal and customer specifications Prepares and issues customer mandated quality documentation (e.g., COAs) Coordinates product testing, data collection, data integrity and rework management activities Maintains calibration status and availability of quality test equipment Supports product and equipment qualification activities (AQP) Ensures testing and inspection activities are performed using current, controlled documentation Ensures all personnel performing quality testing on the production floor are trained and qualified Supports supplier quality issue management and follow-up Laboratory Management Ensures all personnel performing quality testing within the quality lab are trained and qualified Leading the Quality Team (when serving as the highest ranking quality leader on site Regularly scheduled quality staff meeting Ensures team works together as efficiently as possible Assesses training needs of quality techs and ensures execution of training Managing the Quality Team (when delegated by the Quality Manager) Responsible for time and attendance tracking for the quality techs Performs disciplinary actions for quality techs Performs annual performance evaluations for quality techs Customer Relationship Management Supports the customer complaint management process, including use of required reporting systems (CCH), coordination of root cause analysis activities and documentation management. What Makes You Great Min 2 year Degree (Associates) in related field or equivalent work experience Experience with physical lab testing equipment, calipers, scales, digital height gauge and compression force testing equipment and with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience required, preferably in a high speed manufacturing environment Computer literate in Excel, SPC software, Word Basics statistics knowledge Ability to work well with other departments Able to handle multi-task environment with excellent organizational skills Competencies: Directs Work Develops Talent Nimble Learning Plans and Aligns Manages Conflict Resourcefulness Customer Focus Builds Effective Teams Performance Metrics: Performance is evaluated based on the effectiveness of the site Quality Management System and Quality Control program in meeting internal standards as well as customer and regulatory requirements. Additional considerations include audit performance and effective execution of site leadership responsibilities for quality team. Emphasis is placed on maintaining a compliant, reliable quality system and effective customer relationship management. KPIs include but are not limited to: Successful completion of internal, customer, and certification audits; including timely closure of findings Customer complaint performance, including severity, recurrence, RCA quality and closure timeliness Effectiveness of the site quality control program, including data integrity, calibration compliance and rework management Timeliness and accuracy of required quality and food safety reporting Training and qualification status of quality personnel and overall quality team effectiveness Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
