• Facilitating patient flow and assisting physician and clinic staff with coordination of patient care, including greeting and walking patients back to exam rooms and updating patients medical information
• Applying and removing casts, splints, dressings, sutures and staples to patients as directed by provider
• Keeping cast rooms fully stocked and ensuring that the rooms are cleaned after each patient
• Educating patients and their caregivers regarding specific care related to casts, splints, dressings, sutures and staples
• Measuring and applying DME products to patients as directed by provider, ensuring proper fit
• Educating patients and their caregivers on DME product use, care and expected clinical outcome
• Educating the patient on their insurance plan and possible financial responsibility
• Conducting pre-authorization/pre-certifications and referrals when applicable and ensuring all documentation guidelines are met as required by each insurance carrier
• Maintaining appropriate levels of casting supplies and DME inventory
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations Requirements:
  • One year experience in casting, athletic training, orthotic fitting or Physical Therapy Assisting is helpful but not required
  • Flexibility to work in both Iowa and Illinois clinics
