Summary

Under the direction of the VP of Manufacturing Operations the Quality Technician is responsible to review product to ensure it complies with customer's requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Audit finished products and identify defects
  • Use measuring tools, devices and fixtures to examine and insure products/parts are in compliance.
  • Assist with corrective action requests
  • Complete all required records and paperwork.
  • Inspect incoming products
  • Document identified defects with pictures and prepare preliminary root cause defect analysis in writing
  • Assist quality engineer and/or line supervisor in investigating defects to identify root cause
  • Assist quality engineer in developing process improvements to eliminate defects
  • Assist with training and development of line personnel to improve processes and eliminate defects
  • Complete PPAP's for suppliers
  • Collect line performance data and prepare performance charts
  • Prepare statistical analyses of performance data to determine process capability and repeatability
  • Maintain records of line equipment calibrations and schedule calibration activities
  • Assist weld engineers in conducting weld line audits
  • Follow all housekeeping procedures.
  • Comply with all quality and safety regulations.
    QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Requires technical training or three to five years of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate with managers, vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
