Displays FPGA Team! Are you passionate about driving efficiency and
innovation in FPGA/ASIC development? Our Displays FPGA team is on a
mission to develop a cutting-edge toolchain that automates the
creation of register blocks while generating corresponding
documentation and tests. While similar tools exist through vendors
and open-source platforms, none currently meet the rigorous
requirements of a certified DO-254 avionics device. This is where
you come in. As an intern, you'll spend the summer contributing to
this transformative effort by designing and integrating software
components to build a robust, reliable toolchain that enhances
productivity across FPGA/ASIC development projects. This is a

devices in the aerospace industry! What You Will Do: Contribute to
the development of a cutting-edge toolchain that automates the
creation of FPGA/ASIC register blocks. Design, integrate, and test
software components to support toolchain automation. Collaborate
with experienced FPGA engineers to ensure the toolchain meets
DO-254 avionics certification standards. Enhance productivity and
consistency across FPGA and ASIC development projects. Participate
in design discussions, code reviews, and system integration
activities. Apply software engineering best practices to create
robust, reliable, and maintainable tools. What You Will Learn: How
to develop software that meets the rigorous standards of DO-254
certified avionics systems. The fundamentals of FPGA and ASIC
development workflows and toolchains. Techniques for automating
documentation and test generation in complex engineering
environments. Best practices in collaborative engineering, design
verification, and system integration. How to balance innovation
with compliance in safety-critical aerospace systems. The
end-to-end lifecycle of hardware and software co-development within
an avionics context. Qualifications You Must Have: Requires a High
School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline. U.S.
citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to
access information under this program/contract Qualifications We
Prefer: Familiarity using an FPGA vendor tool suite Proficiency in
scripting languages, particularly Python. Understanding of avionics
RTDA standards, including DO-254 and DO-330 Familiarity with
Hardware Description Languages (HDL) such as VHDL, Verilog, or
SystemVerilog. Knowledge of standard languages like SystemRDL and

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process,

salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary
range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all
experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an
offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and
associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience,
location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may
